Drone & RC Propellers
Propellers are essential components that generate lift and thrust for drones and RC vehicles. The performance of a propeller depends on its diameter, pitch, material, and balance. Selecting the wrong propeller can lead to inefficient flight, excessive vibration, or even motor/ESC damage.
Key Factors in Propeller Selection
- Size and Pitch: A propeller is typically described by two numbers, e.g., 5040 means 5-inch diameter and 4-inch pitch. A larger diameter increases thrust, while higher pitch provides greater speed but places more load on the motor.
- Material: Plastic (polycarbonate) props are flexible, impact-resistant, and ideal for beginners. Carbon fiber props are lightweight and rigid, reducing vibration at high RPM but are more brittle. Nylon composite props offer a balance.
- Mounting Direction: Props are designated CW (clockwise) and CCW (counter-clockwise). Most drones use two counter-rotating propellers.
- Balance: An unbalanced propeller causes vibration and the "jello" effect in video. Always check balance before flight or choose factory-balanced props.
For racing drones, bullnose or tri-blade propellers provide superior maneuverability, while low-pitch two-blade props are efficient for long endurance flights. Our catalog includes spare propellers, folding propellers, and specialized sets for all kinds of RC models.
